Alliance iS HPLC System

Waters Corporation

Quality Control (QC) labs face strict compliance, data quality requirements as well as tight timelines and budgets. They also face staff turnover and complex user interfaces. 

 

To address these problems, we designed a touch screen user interface live system monitoring, step-by-step on-screen guidance, traceability, and issue prevention features.

I discovered and defined user needs and requirements through a variety of research methods such as interviews, card sorts, journey mapping, and surveys.

In an agile environment, I designed, validated and reiterated upon designs through usability testing with users.

I documented detailed design specifications for software developers, and established the company's touch screen kiosk design standards.

After launch, the Alliance iS HPLC System reduced human errors by up to 40% based on Waters' market research.

Xcellerex™ Magnetic Mixer

Cytiva

Manufacturing cleanrooms face strict regulations, product loss from use error, complex installation, and extensive training. These issues can be exagerated by high turnover.

To address these problems, we designed the Xcelerex magnetic mixer.

 

I led design of the touch screen user interface and collaborated with industrial designers and automation engineers for smooth integration.

Before designing, I discovered and defined user needs and requirements through journey mapping and user interviews.

Through planning, moderation, and analysis of findings in usability testing, I iterated to improve the design throughout the project timeline.

My Care Health Portal

My Role: UX Designer

This project was part of my graduate studies at Bentley University.

The My Care Health Portal is a centralized way for patients to communicate with their physicians, view lab results, schedule appointments, and manage prescriptions.

Based on personas and user requirements, I sketched different pages which I then created as wireframes. Next, I created a style guide and design system with reusable components. I designed high-fidelity pages and linked them to create a clickable prototype. Finally, I reiterated based on usability testing. 

I designed this application using Figma.

Tamr

My Role: UX Designer

This project was part of my graduate studies at Bentley University. The company Tamr served as the client throughout the duration of the semester. Work from the course could be used by Tamr in their future design work.

I collaborated with a team of other designers to create this application. We began by sketching pages to meet user requirements. Next, we created wireframes for each page and reiterated based on design reviews. I created a style guide and design system for the team to utilize throughout pages. We then designed high-fidelity pages and linked them together to create a clickable prototype. Finally, we conducted usability testing and reiterated based on findings.

This application was designed in Figma.

ACCL Marketing

My Role: Website Designer

As a design consultant, I created this website for my client ACCL Marketing. I created it to be sleek, modern, and professional to appeal to their target audience.

To ensure ease of finding information, I began by establishing the website's information architecture. The website layout is minimalistic to draw attention to important elements. I created a style guide with colors and typography.

I designed this website using Wordpress.

United Way of Central Massachusetts

My Role: Website Designer

As a design consultant, I redesigned the United Way of Central Massachusetts website for their 100th anniversary.

 

To begin, I re-established the information architecture of the website to improve usability. I mocked up the various pages within the website. Within the content, I simplified verbiage and established type hierarchy. Additionally, I utilized United Way's branding guidelines to ensure cohesion

ProFit

My Role: UI/UX Designer

ProFit is a health and fitness application concept I designed from sketches to clickable prototype. I began by creating personas, task flows, and journey maps. Next, I created a style guide and began wireframing the different screens. Lastly, I created a high-fidelity, clickable prototype and reiterated after analyzing findings from usability testing.

 

Designed using Adobe XD. 

Fur the Game

My Role: UI Designer

Fur the Game is a first-person puzzle game inspired by a desire to create a unique player-AI relationship founded on exploration, puzzle-solving, and the need to care for these creatures.

I created a style guide outlining the UI's color and typography for easy hand-off to development. I designed the game's user interface to be vibrant, appealing to children. In addition, the interactions were designed to be simple enough for all ages to learn. In it's final iteration, user testing showed that children learned mechanics with very little guidance, which was my primary goal.

The game is available to play on Steam.

Jaywalker AR

My Roles: UI Designer, Graphic Designer

Using AR technology, the player dodges oncoming traffic in this exciting game developed for the Microsoft HoloLens.

I designed the user interface and marketing material to promote the game.

JayWalker is available to play in the Microsoft Store.

Triage

My Roles: UI Designer, 3D Artist

Project Triage is post-disaster triage simulator to train first responders in different disaster scenarios. This is a Live Studio Project for MassDiGI in collaboration  with the Yale Medical Group.

 

I designed the user interface to provide progress and feedback to the player. In addition, I created 3D character and environment art. The simlation was created using Unity Engine.

Finite

My Roles: UI Designer, 3D Artist

In Finite, the player must navigate through an environment as platforms fall apart. Rewind and fast forward time to reverse and speed up the disintegration of the surrounding environment.

My role was to design and implement the user interface into Unity. Additionally, I created 3D environment assets. The game was created using Unity Engine.
